Do you report my home inspector CE hours to the state of Virginia?

No. Once you complete a course, you will report your hours to the state when you are ready to renew your license.

What should I do if my license is expired?

You must contact the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation Home Inspector Division.

What is considered Continuing Professional Education (CPE) for Home Inspectors?

Continuing Professional Education (CPE) is education that is used by existing license holders to satisfy the renewal requirement. Board Regulation 18 VAC 15-40-72 requires Licensed Home Inspectors to complete 16 contact hours of CPE during each two-year cycle as a condition of renewal. The Board will accept any course that covers the areas tested on the National Home Inspectors Examination in order to meet the CPE requirement for Licensed Home Inspectors.
