Complete a state-approved home inspection training course that is at least 140 hours in length to learn the fundamentals of home design and construction, the tools needed to conduct inspections, the latest techniques for assessing the various systems that make up a home and more. The state of new jersey requires these 140 hours of education to ensure you are fully prepared. Contact your state board for a list of approved schools in New Jersey to start working towards your New Jersey home inspector license today.<\/p>

Step 2: Complete your field training<\/h3>

Complete 40 hours of field inspection training. Specifically, a jersey home inspector must complete 40 hours of unpaid field-based inspections under the direct supervision of a licensed home inspector who will officially supervise your work.
