Most home inspectors do not use thermal imaging (otherwise known as thermography or infrared) technology during the typical home inspection. That said, thermal imaging cameras can be a tremendous asset for home inspectors when it comes to identifying moisture issues, lack of insulation, or any number of problems with the building envelope of a property. Below you’ll find a sample of our thermal imaging course.
Thermal Imaging Course Demo Video
Students who complete our thermal imaging for home inspectors course will learn how to utilize thermal imaging technology to provide greater insight to their home inspection clients regarding the condition of their property. As with other enhanced home inspection techniques that go beyond the accepted home inspection standards of practice you will probably not use thermal imaging on every inspection but there are certain situations where it can be extremely helpful.
We also introduce students to several different devices that can be used for thermal imaging. Everything from standalone devices to plug-in infrared devices from companies like FLIR and SEEK Thermal that can be used with your mobile phone.
The thermal imaging course is included free of charge for students who enroll in our online home inspection course or any of our classroom home inspection training courses. Individuals not enrolled in our home inspection course can purchase the thermal imaging course separately for $100 by calling us at (888)374-4096.
