West Virginia Home Inspection Online Continuing Education Courses

Licensed West Virginia home inspectors are required to complete 16 hours of continuing education every year prior to their anniversary date. ICA Offers all 16 hours through online, self-paced CE Courses in the table below.

WV Home Inspectors who need to renew their license must present proof of completing sixteen (16) Continuing Education Units to the WV State Fire Marshal Office. By completing the courses listed below, you will receive a certificate of completion that is acceptable to the state

To complete our online courses, follow these simple steps:

  1. Purchase the courses that you would like complete.
  2. Log in to your online course portal, and complete your courses at your own pace. You may start and stop the courses as often as you’d like–your progress will be saved.
  3. Pass the course quizzes. Don’t worry–you can take the quizzes as often as needed.
  4. Download your certificate of completion for your records.

No. We do not report your hours on any state other than Illinois or North Carolina. You will have to report your hours yourself when you’re ready to renew your license.

You must contact the West Virginia Fire Marshal Office Home Inspector Division to become reinstated.

Home Inspector Continuing Education Units in WV are defined as 1.0 hours for every fifty minutes of instruction. These hours will be displayed on your downloadable certificate when you complete each course with ICA. The state of WV requires each course to be related directly to the health, life safety, construction, and maintenance of residential properties. ICA’s CE courses are approved by the State Fire Commission.
