Maine does not regulate inspectors with a home inspector license. 15 states, including Maine, still have do not have home inspector regulations.
Steps to become a home inspector:
- Register for the ICA Home Inspection Certification Program. This will not only give you all the knowledge you’ll need to perform a home inspection and own/operate your own successful home inspection business, but you’ll also learn all about commercial inspections, as well as mold, radon, and code. Upon completion of the course you will be an ICA Certified Home Inspector and we will issue you a certification number, which you can use on your business cards and inspection reports.
- Start your own business or go to work for an existing company!
ICA students in Maine receive unlimited access to a report writing software package with the course at no additional charge. You will be able to use this software for your ME home inspector business.
There are few jobs as rewarding and lucrative as home inspection. Professional home inspectors enjoy the freedom of making their own schedules, the satisfaction of helping buyers understand their prospective new homes, and, of course, a healthy income. Given the relatively low barrier of entry, home inspection offers a wealth of benefits worth pursuing. Best of all, earning your Maine home inspector certification is easier than you might expect!
