This online course will teach you how to inspect the unique aspects of homes that are not frame built on site. Over 25 million Americans live in alternative housing such as mobile, log, tiny, manufactured and modular homes. To keep up with the times and our student’s growing need for the proper training to inspect these types of homes, we include this specialty inspection course for all of our students.
Wood Destroying Organisms
This course is designed to teach home inspectors what they need to know in order to perform wood destroying organisms as part of a typical home inspection. Students will learn about different varieties of wood destroying organisms, why wood is susceptible to damage, and how to identify that damage. Students will also learn how to educate their clients about potential remediation in the event that the inspector does find evidence of wood destroying organisms.
Pool and Spa Inspection
This course is designed to teach home inspectors what they need to know in order to perform swimming pool and spa inspections as part of a typical home inspection. Students will learn about vital components to the swimming pool such as pumps, heaters, and filters. We also cover safety standards such fences, locks, covers, and safety glass.
Septic Inspection
The ICA Septic Inspection Course is designed to teach home inspectors how to inspect septic systems as part of the home inspection process. Septic systems are very common in rural areas of the United States and Canada, although they can be found anywhere. Home inspectors who complete this course will learn about the critical components that make up traditional septic systems, how those components work, and how to report on the condition of those components

Thermal Imaging
Students who complete our thermal imaging for home inspectors course will learn how to utilize thermal imaging technology to provide greater insight to their home inspection clients regarding the condition of their property. We also introduce students to several different devices that can be used for thermal imaging. Everything from standalone devices to plug-in infrared devices from companies like FLIR and SEEK Thermal that can be used with your mobile phone.
Irrigation and Sprinkler System Inspection
The Irrigation and Sprinkler System Inspection Course is a program we have developed to teach home inspectors how to inspect lawn irrigation and sprinkler systems as part of the home inspection process. Home inspectors who complete this course will learn about the critical components to lawn irrigation systems and how to report on the condition of those components.
