How do I become a home inspector in Alberta?
Step One: Take and pass our online course.

The average annual salary for a home inspector in Alberta varies, depending on the number of inspections performed each week. Just two inspections on average per week will earn you $35,000 in supplemental income and you can do two or three inspections per day!
How much does a home inspection pay?
The average fee for a home inspection is $400. The amount you charge for any given home inspection will vary based on age and square footage of the home. As part of our course, we teach you how to calculate a proper home inspection fee.
Is your Alberta home inspection training class affiliated with CAHPI?
Do you prepare graduates of your Alberta home inspection course for the CAPHI exam?
Yes, as part of our online home inspection student reference library we include CAHPI exam study resources, including the home inspection standards of practice and code of ethics. It is also important to note that if you do decide to register for the CAHPI exam you have the option to include a practice exam. The official CAHPI home inspection exam and the practice home inspection exam can both be taken online.

What should I use for my inspection report when I perform a home inspection?
We have an arrangement with www.homeinspectionform.com in which our graduates receive a free copy of their Report Form Pro Nitro home inspection reporting software. That is the report that most of our graduates start with since it is so easy to use. Normally selling for $400, the Report Form Pro Nitro home inspection report can be printed and filled out by hand or filled out on your smartphone, tablet, or computer. You can even put in photos easily. They also have a mobile app version of their home inspection report that can be used on an Android or Apple mobile device. At the end of the day, all that matters is that you have a home inspection report form that you’re comfortable with, and these are both good home inspection report options.
Does the online home inspection course for Alberta have a time limit?
No. There is no time limit on our course, so you can take as much time as you would like to complete it.
Do you offer my state test?
No, you will take the CAHPI National Exam (CNE), through the Canadian Association of Home & Property Inspectors.
Can I start my own home business after taking your online home inspection course?
Yes, however you must first apply for your license with Service Alberta. In fact, the majority of our graduates will start their own successful home inspection business after earning their license.We also train you on the whole marketing and business start-upside of things.
What if I have questions during the home inspection cours
We have full support for all students and graduates, both during and after the course. Even if you have questions when you are on a home inspection, we can assist via email, text, or phone.
Do I need to be a home builder or a contractor to be a home inspector?
Absolutely not. We train students from all different backgrounds to be successful home inspectors. Although a contractor background can be beneficial, it is by no means necessary to become a home inspector in Alberta or any other province.
