CE Course Descriptions

This course is designed to educate you on the various mold and fungi that can be present in your surroundings. We will guide you through the investigation of the various pollutants in the air quality that could affect you and your health, provide an understanding of the testing equipment and the required testing. Furthermore, we will discuss lab results and how to convey those results to your client.

Take a walk through time and discover the products we used that defined each era-from bold-colored appliances to smart technology. We will explore the pros and cons of various products that have made a lasting impression on the home inspection industry. 

Dive deeper into the unique challenges and features of properties near the coast. From salt air corrosion to elevated foundations and hurricane-resistant design, this course helps inspectors identify common coastal issues and understand the building methods used to protect homes in high-risk zones.

Arkansas Home Inspector Continuing Education Requirements

Arkansas home inspectors are required to complete fourteen (14) hours of continuing education coursework every year.

At least eight (8) hours of coursework must be completed in person by the home inspector, with a Board-approved instructor teaching the course face-to-face.

The remaining six (6) hours can be completed online and self-paced.

NEW for 2024: all General, Residential, Specialty, Mechanical, and Handyman Construction Contractors now have professional license expiration dates of 9/30 of even years. You are encouraged to renew prior to 9/30/24, but your license will not lapse until 1/1/2025 just for this year.

To complete our course, follow these simple steps:

  1. Purchase the course that you would like complete.
  2. Complete/Attend your course.
  3. We will email a certificate of completion for your records.

No. We do not report your hours on any state other than Illinois or North Carolina. You will have to report your hours yourself when you’re ready to renew your license.

You must contact the Arkansas Department of Labor and Licensing to have your Home Inspector License reinstated.

Annual Hours Required: Fourteen (14) hours of continuing education coursework shall be completed to fulfill annual registration renewal requirements as follows:

1. Classroom Courses:

a. At least eight (8) hours of coursework must be completed in person by the home inspector with a Board approved instructor teaching the course face-to- face.
b. Classroom coursework must be completed during the 24 months preceding the first day of the home inspector’s next Board-approved registration period.
c. Continuing education classroom course credit may also be achieved by completing individual modules of a Board-approved comprehensive preregistration classroom curriculum if allowed/offered by the provider of such curriculum.
d. Continuing education classroom course credit may also be achieved by the home inspector if he/she is in an instructional setting that permits live real-time communication and interaction with an instructor who is not face-to-face with the inspector, provided however that the Board has approved the specific method whereby student attendance and/or testing at the specific offering can be verified.

2. Distance Learning Courses:

a. No more than six (6) hours of completed coursework may be submitted for registration renewal credit that is completed by written correspondence or through any means where the home inspector does not have the ability to communicate/interact with the instructor in a live real-time setting.
b. This coursework must be completed during the 12 months preceding the first day of the home inspector’s next Board-approved registration period.
